Pre-provisioned Level 2 Heat Pump Monitoring bundle.

Level 2 heat pump monitoring measures the electrical input and the temperatures of the flow and return pipes. This enables data logging of the heat pump operation for optimisation and diagnostic purposes.

While the COP can be estimated using a Level 2 monitor using the Carnot COP equation, it cannot be calculated accurately. For accurate COP calculation and heat measurement, see Level 3 Heat Pump Monitoring bundle.

  • emonPi2 Energy Monitor
  • emonVS Voltage sensing power supply
  • 50A clip-on CT sensor for outdoor ASHP
  • 20A clip-on CT sensor for indoor controllers 
  • 20A clip on CT sensor for DHW diverter valve (to determine heating mode)
  • 2x wired temp sensors (flow & return)
  • Pipe attachment kit (copper tape, thermal paste & zip tie)
  • Indoor wireless temp sensor (optional)
  • 10yrs of free emoncms.org data logging

Connectivity 

The emonPi datalogger requires an internet connection. It can be connected via Ethernet or WiFi. We highly recommend Ethernet connection for long term reliability. If Ethernet is not possible, WiFi can be used.

To enable us to offer remote support the emonHP has remote access enabled by default, this can be disabled on request.   

 

Example Level 2 Dashboard (no COP)

Level 2 monitoring does not monitor heat output, only electrical input is available on the dashboard and SCOP cannot be calculated:
