The Open Vehicle Monitoring System (OVMS) is an open-source vehicle monitoring and control platform featuring 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Built by a dedicated community of automotive enthusiasts and engineers, OVMS delivers deep telemetry insights into vehicle internals that OEM systems typically lock away.
While most modern vehicles include basic remote-control apps, they often suffer from regional lockouts, lack granular data insight, and compromise user privacy. OVMS fills this gap by giving you complete ownership of your data, while also allowing you to retrofit these advanced smart capabilities onto older vehicles.

OVMS is a hobbyist project, it's designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. Installation and use of this module requires some technical knowledge.
The OVMS module is continuously powered by the car, even when the car is off. While the OVMS module uses extremely low power, it does continuously draw power from the car’s battery, so it will contribute to 12V power drains.
