Heatpump Monitoring throughhole development kit (Includes MBUS reader)

Please note: This is a through hole kit that requires assembly and soldering

A low cost ESP8266 WIFI enabled open source hardware heat-pump monitor that can measure electrical input, heat output and system temperatures.

This unit uses our EmonESP serial to WIFI gateway software that runs on the ESP8266 WIFI module, configured for easy data-logging and visualisation on emoncms.org.

Main features

  • CT current and ACAC voltage based electricity monitoring (3x CT Sensor inputs)
  • Pulse counting or IRDA Elster meter reader
  • Analog inputs for Vortex Flow Sensor (VFS) option (e.g Sika, Grundfos)
  • MBUS reader for Kamstrup heat meters (402 & 403 supported)
  • 4x individually broken out DS18B20 temperature sensor connections
  • Arduino ATmega328 core
  • Connectivity options: ESP8266 WIFI, RFM69

Alternative option: EmonTx v3 with the ESP8266 Huzzah WIFI module

If the MBUS reader is not required another option for mostly pre-assembled ESP WIFI enabled energy monitoring is to use an EmonTx v3 with the Adafruit ESP8266 Huzzah WIFI breakout module, see forum discussion thread and instructions here: https://community.openenergymonitor.org/t/using-the-emontx-v3-with-the-esp8266-huzzah-wifi-module/795. This is a lower cost route than using our special assembly service for the Heatpump monitor.
